Please be advised that the use of COURIER SERVICE, EXPRESS or REGISTERED POST is strongly recommended for Mailed Applications.
Please ensure that a Self-Addressed, delivery-prepaid envelope is enclosed with your documents
The Embassy will not tolerate perjury. Deliberate misrepresentation or submission of false information will be prosecuted to the full extent of applicable laws.
Sierra Leone is a tropical country. We therefore encourage applicants to consult with their doctors before travelling (for any necessary medication)
The Consular Section observes the following opening hours: 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m Mondays to Thursdays.
Three (3) photocopies each of the first three (3) pages of the passport of the applicant´s parent, including the page showing the parent´s status in the country of residence
Three (3) photocopies of the Birth Certificate of the child
Three (3) recent passport size color photographs of the child with light background
Letter of consent from the other parent addressed to the Chief Immigration Officer in Freetown
All of the above should be submitted by the applicant´s parent in person to the Consular Officer at the Embassy. The Applicant´s parent must present to the Consular Officer the child for whom the application is being made
The Consular Officer shall examine all submitted documents in the applicant´s presence and ensure there are no mistakes
If the application is approved, the applicant shall proceed with payment to the "Sale of Passports Account"

For Individuals Age 16 and Above:
Note:
First-time Applicants for New Passports aged 16 years and above cannot have their application processed by the Embassy/Consulate. This will have to be done in Freetown
Three (3) photocopies each of the first three (3) pages of old passport including the page showing the applicant´s status in the country of residence
A photocopy of Birth Certificate
Three (3) recent passport size color photographs with light background
Applicant must submit completed application form and all attachments to the Consular Officer in person. The Consular Officer shall examine all submitted documents in the applicant´s presence and ensure there are no mistakes
The applicant will then be interviewed by the Consular Officer
If the application is approved, the applicant shall proceed with payment to the "Sale of Passports Account"
